Concerts Review
A rockin' spot where fun rules

Think you're shy? Think again. At the Red Door Playhouse in Roswell, kids who don't know each other jump out of their seats and show off their dance moves.
They wind up elbow to elbow in front of the stage. They just can't resist twirling, jumping and grooving as a band plays original songs during the new concert series Red Door Rocks.
After getting warmed up, you may think: Hey, I want to get in the spotlight!
No problem. Kids can join the band onstage - and even help keep beat on drums.
There are no sit-in-your-seat rules. Instead of getting antsy, kids can get wound up - and that's great!
Before the show you can draw on scribble paper on tables, explore the stage and roll on mats.
Original songs by Red Door Playhouse owners Seth Decker and Leah Lewandowski have kid-friendly lyrics and bouncy beats. Familiar tunes also help keep everybody grooving.
During a concert at the playhouse, a former art gallery in historic Roswell, you feel like you're at a neighbor's party.
What do moms and dads do? Relax. Smile. Chat before the show. Maybe tap a toe or two while seated on a chair or couch as the show unfolds.
For kids, all that partying can make you work up a sweat. So there's a shore intermission - with free ice cream included.
Then it's back to the music, which seems targeted at the hearts of those 10 and younger.
This is soft rock at its softest, with "I Am Superman" and "I Know Everything" among a slew of silly hits.
Red Door Playhouse is a spot where kids learn to stretch their minds and bodies - and not just at Red Door Rocks concerts.
The playhouse's art, music and drama classes are catching on, and its summer camps filled quickly.
Only two more Red Door Rocks summer concerts are on tap before there's a one-month break as school cranks up.
Then the twice-a-month concerts will return around late September - so keep your dance shoes handy.
